AU: Scott/ Stiles/ Gabriel
No one knows why half the things in Beacon Hills happen. It's not exactly something they like to put on tour guides advertising the place.
Scott had gone to work right after his class, which left Stiles to drive home on his own. He would've been able to leave sooner but he'd gotten detention. This one had been totally Scott's fault and he'd apologized at lunch, but he hadn't been able to get Stiles out of it. So when Stiles left the school building there wasn't too many around. Just as he was reaching the parking lot, a bright white flash blinded him for a moment. There was a thud and a groan of pain and then everything went right back to normal. Except now there was a blonde kid laying on the ground not ten yards from him. He was still and unconscious, but there was something remarkably familiar about his face. He wore a coat and scarf, even though it was May and he had he didn't have anything with him besides that.

"Well.. not Dia. She sketches with a pencil but Ally does, yeah. She let's me use some of her stuff sometimes." He frowned at hearing Stiles was on the bench. "They should let you play. It's fun to play."
no subject
"I'm glad that you've got siblings who let you interact with them," he says with a smile. "I've never actually had any of my own unless I count Scott." There's a hint of amusement to his voice. "Trust me, big guy, once I get better at it Coach is bound to let me play. I just have to be better first."

Gabe sometimes wished there were fewer kids, but he didn't think he could enjoy being an only child. That sounded too lonely to him. He wasn't sure what else to say but they get interrupted by Peanut whining for another bottle. Gabe gets excited about giving it to the puppy and lets Deaton show him how again.
Across town John talks things over with Melissa and they agree Gabriel would be best with Stiles unless Stiles doesn't agree.

Gabe smiled. He was glad his mistake earlier wouldn't hurt his puppy. Stiles didn't know that had happened but Deaton said he should be okay.
"Is uncle Ethan busy?" He asked. He was used to all the family living close by. It was weird not having his siblings around.
John sent a text to Stiles. 'Okay with Kid staying with us?'
no subject
He looks at the text and smiles seeing it. Perfectly fine with that, dad. We'll have to get things for the puppy on the way home though.

John groaned. Now they were stuck with a dog too?
'Can't Deaton keep the dog?'
"Yeah, you know.., Ethan," he said with a frown. "Aiden?" Gabe didn't like that no one understood the world where he was from.
no subject
He gives a bit of a frown of his own," We don't know an Ethan and Aiden, buddy. Are they someone that we know in your time?" Hey, he was curious about the future and what happens in it. Or more like all the people in it.
no subject
"Yeah, they're family," Gabe explained. He didn't know the story of how and when the twins came into the family. He just trusted that they were. "Me, Ally, Laura, Dia, Caleb, Myles, Junior, Mamaw, Papaw, Grandpa Deaton, Grandpa Chris, Uncle Derek, Uncle Ethan, Uncle Aiden, Uncle Isaac and uh.." He frowned, unsure if he forgot someone. He goes back through it in his head but still looks confused. "Oh.. you and Daddy."
John was really not pleased about this. Fortunately he had Melissa nearby to complain to.
no subject
Luckily for John, Melissa gladly sits and listens to him complain.

Gabriel echoed that frown. He held his puppy a little tighter. Glancing around for Deaton, he didn't see him. You weren't supposed to lie to Mommy but he didn't want to tell the truth either. "Uh.., she's um..." He floundered thinking of a way to answer that.

Gabe pouted. He didn't want to say it! "I don't know the whole story but I know she got killed by some monster thing," he finally said timidly. He braced for the reaction.

"You're not mad?" He asked. He'd been afraid Stiles would be. A part of him wished now he did know the story so he could share it but his parents had wisely kept the scary details from their young kids.
Myles had asked and gotten the full story but he was older.

"You're going to be staying with me and dad."
no subject
"Okay," Gabe said. He thought Stiles meant dad as in daddy, but it didn't really matter. He was too happy that Stiles liked him! "Does Peanut get to- Daddy!"
Gabe's attention jerked from Stiles to the door. His ears had noticed the bike but his nose knew that scent anywhere!

Since it was Daddy, Gabe didn't think anything of opening the door for him. Anyone else and he would've waited for permission.
Scott smiled at the kid, a little surprised to see him answering the door. "Hey Gabriel. Where's Stiles?" He asked.
"In the kitchen," he said pointing. He shyly followed Scott after the parent-to-be.
"Hey you feeling okay?" He asked coming up to Stiles.
no subject
"Hey, Scotty," he says when he does finally see him. "Doin' alright." Or as alright as anyone can be when they're in a bit of pain.

"I went to the hospital first but they told me you had been released. Have you been here long?" He asked. He felt kind of bad for not being with Stiles today.
Gabe still hung back, too shy for his own good.

Gabriel's cheeks went bright red at the compliment but he smiled, flattered. He didn't know what to do with himself now that he had both of their attention.
Scott had the exact same awkward grin on his face when he changed his focus from Stiles to Gabe. "Oh yeah? I'm sure we do. Tell me something about you," he suggested taking a seat next to Stiles.
Gabe's eyes got wide as they both looked at him. "Uh.. I have a new puppy named Peanut since he looks like peanut butter."
Scott laughed and not realizing it was the dog in the present time. "That's cool. How old is he?"
Gabe frowned. "I don't know. I can go ask Grandpa?"
no subject
"You don't have to ask grandpa, big man," Stiles says with a grin, leaning against Scott. "You want to go get Peanut and show daddy?"
no subject
Scott looked at Stiles oddly as Gabe ran off to get Peanut. "Wait so the dog is here?"
As soon as he saw the puppy he recognized it from the clinic. "Ohh! That one. I think it's six weeks maybe?"
Gabe grinned and hugged Peanut gently. "Grandpa said I could take care of him." Or something like that. That's what he heard at least.
