AU: Scott/ Stiles/ Gabriel
No one knows why half the things in Beacon Hills happen. It's not exactly something they like to put on tour guides advertising the place.
Scott had gone to work right after his class, which left Stiles to drive home on his own. He would've been able to leave sooner but he'd gotten detention. This one had been totally Scott's fault and he'd apologized at lunch, but he hadn't been able to get Stiles out of it. So when Stiles left the school building there wasn't too many around. Just as he was reaching the parking lot, a bright white flash blinded him for a moment. There was a thud and a groan of pain and then everything went right back to normal. Except now there was a blonde kid laying on the ground not ten yards from him. He was still and unconscious, but there was something remarkably familiar about his face. He wore a coat and scarf, even though it was May and he had he didn't have anything with him besides that.

Since it was Daddy, Gabe didn't think anything of opening the door for him. Anyone else and he would've waited for permission.
Scott smiled at the kid, a little surprised to see him answering the door. "Hey Gabriel. Where's Stiles?" He asked.
"In the kitchen," he said pointing. He shyly followed Scott after the parent-to-be.
"Hey you feeling okay?" He asked coming up to Stiles.
no subject
"Hey, Scotty," he says when he does finally see him. "Doin' alright." Or as alright as anyone can be when they're in a bit of pain.
no subject
"I went to the hospital first but they told me you had been released. Have you been here long?" He asked. He felt kind of bad for not being with Stiles today.
Gabe still hung back, too shy for his own good.

Gabriel's cheeks went bright red at the compliment but he smiled, flattered. He didn't know what to do with himself now that he had both of their attention.
Scott had the exact same awkward grin on his face when he changed his focus from Stiles to Gabe. "Oh yeah? I'm sure we do. Tell me something about you," he suggested taking a seat next to Stiles.
Gabe's eyes got wide as they both looked at him. "Uh.. I have a new puppy named Peanut since he looks like peanut butter."
Scott laughed and not realizing it was the dog in the present time. "That's cool. How old is he?"
Gabe frowned. "I don't know. I can go ask Grandpa?"
no subject
"You don't have to ask grandpa, big man," Stiles says with a grin, leaning against Scott. "You want to go get Peanut and show daddy?"
no subject
Scott looked at Stiles oddly as Gabe ran off to get Peanut. "Wait so the dog is here?"
As soon as he saw the puppy he recognized it from the clinic. "Ohh! That one. I think it's six weeks maybe?"
Gabe grinned and hugged Peanut gently. "Grandpa said I could take care of him." Or something like that. That's what he heard at least.
no subject
"Yeah, it's become Gabriel's dog," Stiles says with a hint of pride there. Probably because his son was taking care of the puppy on his own, well... with a little help from Deaton. Though he does look at his best friend for a moment.
"Gabe told me that Isaac and Derek have a little one."
no subject
He reached out and pet the puppy's silky fur. He found that to be so cool about this breed even if the ears could be a problem. "We'll have to get Deaton to show you how to clean his ears. This kind can get infections there if we're not careful." It seemed to him that every breed had something special about it and a unique challenge like that.
Stiles' news was surprising. He didn't know how they'd keep a dog in the Loft. Gabe bobbed his head in a nod and told Scott her name was Bella. "Aw. What kind is she?" He asked. Somehow he really wanted it to be one of those puffy little things like Lydia had. That would just be hysterical!
no subject
"A soon to be two year old little girl. That's what kind she is, Scotty."
no subject
Stiles might be trying not to laugh but Gabriel failed miserably. He nearly fell over giggling his butt off.
Scott blinked and looked at Stiles blankly. A two year old little girl? How did that... oh god. "You mean she's a human?" He asked, suddenly figuring it out. "Derek and Isaac?!" A tiny explosion just went off in his head as the world stopped making sense! That seemed so bizarre.

"Oh my god.." Scott groaned. He's not entirely sure he wants to hear this. It was just... this was a lot to take in. If he found out about the seven children he just might be the first werewolf ever to die from a heart attack.
Gabe was watching his face and if he was a puppy, his ears would've been down. Did Daddy not like what his future held? It made him hesitant to share anything more.

If he was already enamored with their little boy then good. Though the part about Allison... that he'll talk to Scott about later.

Scott watched, almost in awe, at the way Stiles comforted the little boy. He was rewarded immediately with Gabriel hugging him back and staying close. The sight almost made him choke up for reasons he didn't understand. Gabe loved his parents and there was no denying it that Stiles was his Mommy, however that worked logistically. One mama's boy to another, Scott knew when he saw that kind of love and respect.
His eyes drifted from Gabe to Stiles and he smiled, if a touch misty in the eyes. "I can't wait to hear it. Do you want to stay here or do you want to go over to your.. oh, wait. We don't have your Jeep." Crap. They were not going to be driving home on the back of his motorcycle with Stiles, kid, and puppy. "Never mind. So.. uh.. How are we doing this?"
no subject
"Dad said to call him when we were ready to leave. Gabe's staying with us and we need to get food and things for the puppy on the way. How far is home from here?" Yes, he was suggesting they walk even though he knows Scott probably won't let him.
no subject
Gabe giggled when his mommy nuzzled him like that. It was just how Stiles normally did it.
Scott looked at Stiles confused. "Only like ten minutes I think?" By car, that was. It didn't even occur to him that Stiles was suggesting to walk. "Why don't I go get the stuff for the puppy and you call your dad? Unless you want to pick it out."

"Are you crazy?" Scott asked, with his eyebrows rising. "You can't do that after what happened to you."
He shook his head. Did anyone have to deal with such a bull headed best friend? And bull headed was thought with fondness. "I can see if Deaton will let me use his car?"
no subject
"No, I'm not crazy," he states nuzzling Gabe's cheek again. "I just don't want to sit around all day." Besides, he didn't want Scott being a lot like his dad, damnit. He scrunches his nose up at the suggestion.
"Yeah, I guess you could."
no subject
Unfortunately for Stiles, he had two strong willed guys who loved him. They were bound to sound similar some of the time.
"Okay, I'll ask about that and if we can borrow a pet carrier. I'll stay in the car with Peanut when we get to the pet store. He's too little to go in there." He was concerned if the puppy was still bottle fed if this was a bad idea to take him from Deaton's house at all. The vet was a very good spot for the runt.
Once he gets the other two on board about the store, he goes to check it with Deaton.
no subject
"Whole point of going is so Peanut can pick out his own things," Stiles points out. "So it wouldn't do no good to go and not take little man in. I'm sure we could put blankets over him, keep him warm and him be able to pick out what he wants."
"Something I can do for you, Scott?" Deaton asks once Scott comes to him.
no subject
Scott hadn't expected Stiles to want the dog to pick out the items. He'd never heard of anything so silly. "I care more about Gabe getting the toys he wants for Peanut, not what Peanut wants." And that's from someone who loves animals. "But we really can't take Peanut in there. He hasn't had all his shots."
He knew that wasn't going to make either Gabe or Stiles happy. "We could let Deaton take care of him until he gets his shots?" Which could be weeks.
no subject
To be honest with the way that Deaton was helping Gabe take care of the puppy, letting him name it and everything... he'd figured that the vet had given the boy the puppy. That's what he'd gotten from all the interactions. So he can't help but frown because if that wasn't the case... Then why let his kid get attached?
"Right, of course," he says with a bit of a frown. He's actually kind of upset with the vet for letting that happen. "I guess we could." Even if he'd rather take the puppy home with him when him and Gabe go back to his place.
