AU: Scott/ Stiles/ Gabriel
No one knows why half the things in Beacon Hills happen. It's not exactly something they like to put on tour guides advertising the place.
Scott had gone to work right after his class, which left Stiles to drive home on his own. He would've been able to leave sooner but he'd gotten detention. This one had been totally Scott's fault and he'd apologized at lunch, but he hadn't been able to get Stiles out of it. So when Stiles left the school building there wasn't too many around. Just as he was reaching the parking lot, a bright white flash blinded him for a moment. There was a thud and a groan of pain and then everything went right back to normal. Except now there was a blonde kid laying on the ground not ten yards from him. He was still and unconscious, but there was something remarkably familiar about his face. He wore a coat and scarf, even though it was May and he had he didn't have anything with him besides that.

Gabe drew closer- if that was possible- and tried to believe Stiles. His face lit up abruptly. "He's going to go with us!" He meaning...?
"Cool, thanks Deaton," Scott said relieved. "I'll give him a call so we can get out of your hair."
no subject
Deaton gives a nod," None of this is really a bother, Scott. However, I'm sure Stiles would like to get home."
no subject
Gabe was practically bouncing up and down. "Daddy! He's coming with us and Peanut and Papaw and everyone!" Okay maybe that wasn't everyone, but just go with it.
Scott suddenly couldn't keep a straight face. He was listening to the little boy in the other room and it was so cute. "Wow.. he's really excited about this idea." It was distracting since he didn't mean to be rude to Deaton by getting sidetracked. Shaking his head to focus, he gave Deaton a smile. "Thank you. Let me know if I can help with getting him home or anything."
no subject
"Don't worry, Scott. I'll let you know. Go on back with Stiles and your boy," Deaton tells him with a smile. After all, Stiles had Scott's phone.
no subject
Scott thanked him again and gathered up a spare pet carrier, a small blanket to put inside, and Deaton's car keys. Coming into the other room, he grinned at Gabe. "I'm not used to other people being able to hear me so well. You two ready to go?"
"Yeah!" Gabe said, eager to go home. Of course he was going to be in for disappointment when he sees where 'home' is.

"Yeah sure," he said in agreement. "We have Deaton's car so you can do it on the way." They didn't need to ask for Scott to come over and visit but probably to stay for a few days yes. He was getting an idea about how to handle the pet store too. He hoped Stiles would go with his compromise. His bestie could be a firecracker when he wanted to be. It made him grin just thinking about it.
Gabe helped his puppy gently get in the carrier where it would be safer in the car. "He won't think he was a bad doggie will he?" He looked worriedly at Stiles.
no subject
He gives a slight nod and gets up grabbing his medicine, putting it in his pocket. He moves over as Gabriel puts Peanut in the carrier and kisses his temple," No, buddy, he won't think he's a bad dog. The carrier will just keep him safe while he's in the car."
Kissing the top of Gabe's head he pulls the phone out and calls his dad, asking him if Scott can stay with them for a few days. Then again... he's not really thinking, they should be asking Melissa too.
no subject
While Stiles calls his dad, Scott got Gabe and Peanut into the car. He even got the door for Stiles- something that they really never did for each other.
As he settled in the driver's seat, the call went to voicemail. John was in middle of giving someone a speeding ticket. He'd call back in a few minutes.
Gabe found all kinds of new smells in the car to keep him busy. Scott was a little distracted by it as he drove. It wasn't something a normal kid did, but Gabe wasn't normal. He was only doing it since no one was around but family.
no subject
Stiles doesn't think much of it when his dad doesn't answer the phone. When he does call back, he talks to him and gives a bit of a smile before looking over at Scott before looking in the rearview mirror seeing Gabe smelling everything and can't help smiling.
"Dad said you could stick around for a few days."
no subject
Till now Scott hadn't ever thought about what werewolf babies were like. In truth he didn't even spend much time thinking what human babies were like either. As he watched in quick glimpses before looking at at the road, he could see some mannerisms that were unmistakably puppy.
"Okay," he said to Stiles distractedly. "Think that's how Derek used to act?"
no subject
Stiles can't help but give a bit of a chuckle and shakes his head," I don't think so. Then again... we don't know much about how he'd react or act either."
no subject
Peanut made a little howl in his carrier so Gabe echoed with his puppy sounding howl. Scott laughed because really, his son just howled! Oh... That was the first time he'd thought of Gabe that way.
As he parked in front of the pet store, he grinned brightly. "He really is ours isn't he?"
Then to Gabe and Stiles both, he said a little louder to get Gabe's attention. "Okay I think you two should go in and get just the essentials. Then as soon as he gets his shots we'll come back and let him pick out a few new toys. What do you think?" He then offered Stiles his wallet.
no subject
He laughs at the howl before taking Scott's wallet and giving a bit of a nod," Yes, he's ours. And, yeah we can do that." That was a compromise that Stiles could get behind.
no subject
Gabe was reluctant to leave Peanut in the car, but he knew he was in good hands. So he hurried into the store with Stiles. "What do we need to get?" He asked glancing around the store entrance. "We don't want to spend too much or Daddy will get mad."
Maybe not mad but grumbly.
no subject
"Daddy won't get mad. But he'll be a sad puppy," Stiles says with a grin, wrapping an arm around Gabe's shoulder. "Right now we're just getting essentials. So that means puppy food and bowls for the food and water. Once grandpa gives Peanut his shots we'll bring him here and let him pick out his own toys."
no subject
"Can't we pick out at least one toy? Please!" Gabe begged. It was identical to how Stiles would've asked his dad almost a decade ago. Gabe wasn't totally Scott's blonde mini-me.
That and neither of them were ever so painfully shy.
no subject
Gabriel definitely reminded him of himself in that aspect and he tries not to laugh at that," Only one toy, buddy. We don't want to spend all of daddy's money."
no subject
Gabe got excited and hurried over to the dog toys. That would keep him busy for a while.
In the car, Scott tried identifying all the scents Gabe was noticing. Sometimes it was enough to drive him crazy with all the different scents in the air. Then he realized he should probably call his mom.
no subject
Stiles can't help but laugh slightly and sticks close, so he doesn't lose track of his son.
If Scott was going to do that then he should definitely call her. Especially if he's staying with Stiles for a few days. Otherwise, she's going to worry and when she worries... things can get messy.
no subject
Scott dialed her number to see if she's able to talk right now. With the hospital, you never know.
Gabe picked out a small stuffed duckie and a ball. He stared at them both indecisively. Finally he went to see what Stiles thought. "Mommy, which should I get?"
In the aisle Stiles was in a middle aged woman was also shopping. She looked up surprised to see who Gabe was talking to. First of all, Stiles was a guy and second, there wasn't enough age difference between them to make any sense.
no subject
"Beacon Hills Memorial." Melissa says picking up the hospital phone. After all, she had a couple minutes to spare but not much. Not when she was working a double shift.
Stiles can't help but smile and wrap an arm around Gabe's shoulders a bit tighter, nothing that would hurt though," Does one of them squeak, big guy?" Oh, he could feel the lady's eyes on him and he resists the urge to turn asking her what the hell she was staring at. They were going to get what was needed and then go.
no subject
"Hey Mom, it's kind of a long story but..," he started, but really when did a statement like that ever precede something good? "Deaton accidentally gave Gabe a puppy that's too young and I need to go stay with them for a few days to keep it from getting sick." Of all that he could've said, that was about the least crazy it got for him.
"The duckie has a squeaker but the ball has a bell," he said and shook it so Stiles could hear the tinny sound inside.
no subject
"What do you mean it's a long story, Scott..." Melissa asks with a bit of a frown. Though as he continues to explain she can't help but groan slightly," Do you have everything that you need?"
"Then lets get Peanut the ball, big guy. He'll probably like it better than something that squeaks," Stiles says with a smile.
no subject
"Not yet. We're at the pet store and then I'm going to get them settled. I'll get my stuff after if that's okay with you." He might be the alpha but mom trumped alpha status.
"Okay!" He hurried to put the duckie back.
The woman is trying not to look, but this was strange to her.
