AU: Scott/ Stiles/ Gabriel
No one knows why half the things in Beacon Hills happen. It's not exactly something they like to put on tour guides advertising the place.
Scott had gone to work right after his class, which left Stiles to drive home on his own. He would've been able to leave sooner but he'd gotten detention. This one had been totally Scott's fault and he'd apologized at lunch, but he hadn't been able to get Stiles out of it. So when Stiles left the school building there wasn't too many around. Just as he was reaching the parking lot, a bright white flash blinded him for a moment. There was a thud and a groan of pain and then everything went right back to normal. Except now there was a blonde kid laying on the ground not ten yards from him. He was still and unconscious, but there was something remarkably familiar about his face. He wore a coat and scarf, even though it was May and he had he didn't have anything with him besides that.

"What do you mean it's a long story, Scott..." Melissa asks with a bit of a frown. Though as he continues to explain she can't help but groan slightly," Do you have everything that you need?"
"Then lets get Peanut the ball, big guy. He'll probably like it better than something that squeaks," Stiles says with a smile.

"Not yet. We're at the pet store and then I'm going to get them settled. I'll get my stuff after if that's okay with you." He might be the alpha but mom trumped alpha status.
"Okay!" He hurried to put the duckie back.
The woman is trying not to look, but this was strange to her.

"You should've said something sooner rather than springing it on us, Scott," Melissa tells him. "However, that's fine. Just keep me posted on what's going on. I need to go, Scott. Be good while you're over there."
Stiles smiles and gives the woman a slight glare before turning back to his boy," Ready, baby boy?"
no subject
"Okay thanks, Mom," he said and hung up. He frowned looking at the phone wondering what part of this he sprung on her that hadn't just been sprung on him. He was sure she was right but he didn't see it.
"Yeah and I saw the ball is actually cheaper too," he said knowing that will make Scott happy. So with the supplies plus the ball they didn't take all of Scott's money- just most of it.

Stiles gives a bit of a chuckle before putting Scott's wallet in his back pocket and helps Gabriel carry the stuff out to the car, getting him and the stuff into it. Once he's got Gabe and the puppy's things in the car, he slips back into the passenger seat giving a bit of a yawn. Okay, maybe when they got home he'd take a nap. "Lets go home, Scotty."

Scott watched Stiles as he got in. He was more than a little concerned about him. He wisely kept his mouth shut. At the encouragement, he drove them back to Stiles' house.
As they pulled in the drive, he glanced in his rear view mirror. "Psst," he whispered to Stiles and nodded to the back. Gabe had his head on the dog carrier and was falling asleep on it.

He leans back in his seat and is almost out of it when he hears his best friend's voice. "Hmm?" It's quiet even as he looks toward the rear view mirror and then turns a little to look in the back, smiling. Sitting upright again he shakes his head," That's our boy for you."
no subject
"Have we figured out yet how that's even possible?" Scott asked. Of course neither had thought to ask Deaton about it. So far no one had contacted one of the natural born wolves in their pack either. "Can you carry the carrier or should I make two trips?" One of them needed to carry Gabriel. It didn't even occur to him to wake the boy up to walk on his own. That was a parent for you.
no subject
"No, we haven't figured out how that's even possible," Stiles says with a shake of his head. "I can get the carrier if you can get Gabe." He doesn't want to wake the little guy up. He looks so tired but then again it had been a long day for him.
no subject
"Cool, thanks." Scott hopped out and opened the door. Carefully, he lifts Gabe out and leans his little head against Scott's chest. It was like he was carrying expensive glass.
It's almost ruined when the ball almost falls to the ground but Scott catches it with his foot. Then that leaves him standing on one foot awkwardly. He looks at Stiles for help.

Stiles can't help but laugh before shaking his head. Slipping out of the car he moves over, leaning down and grabbing the ball and handing it back to Scott. Then he reaches in and picks up the pet carrier.
"I'll go unlock the door since dad's not home."

Scott was impressed the ball hadn't jingled too loud to wake up Gabe. Their son had to be totally wiped out.
He followed Stiles to the door and then inside. Carrying Gabe upstairs, he started into the guest room and would lay him in there unless Stiles said otherwise.

Scott looked at him surprised, but did as he asked. Gabe made a whiny, soft puppy noise as he was laid down but he didn't wake up. In fact, it just made Peanut go sniffing around the room trying to find him. Scott looked back at Stiles. "I'm going to get him in a box so he doesn't go all over your room."
If Stiles puts the pup in the bed too, he wasn't going to suggest it. He'd find it very cute, but potentially messy. He wouldn't say anything though.
no subject
"Alright," Stiles says giving his best friend a smile. "Should we get a little towel or something to put in the box with him? So that he stays warm."
no subject
"Yeah, don't worry. I'll get him set up. You just relax and get some rest," he assured Stiles. Scott knew this house just as well as his own, so he could find everything he needed. He knew where the newspaper that was waiting to go out to the recycling was kept and where the old towels for messes and not showers were.
A part of him wanted some alone time with Stiles again, but they weren't going to have that just yet.

"Yes," Scott stopped and came back over to him. He tried to read his expression, but couldn't really. So he just wrapped him in a hug. "It doesn't make you weak or anything to rest. As soon as I get Peanut set up, I'll probably join you."
And holding Stiles felt really nice all of a sudden. He didn't really want to let him go, but he felt awkward about it, so he did.

Scott had an urge to pursue that kiss on the cheek, but he stopped himself. They were still confused about what they were and what was happening. He was thinking about it when Stiles mentioned the alarm. Looking at his friend confused, he asked, "An alarm for what?"
In his sleep, Gabe became aware of a warm body next to him so he rolled closer. He wanted a puppy pile, but a mommy pile would be even better.
no subject
"So I can wake up to take my meds, Scotty," he tells him with a bit of a chuckle. Though he smiles a bit Gabe gravitates more towards him. He hadn't been expecting that at all.

Scott watched the little boy snuggle up and found himself immobile for a few moments. It was so sweet, he could barely handle it. Finally he snapped out of it. "Yeah.. medicine. Got it." He started to leave before he realized that wasn't enough information. "When do you need it set for?"

It isn't too long though before he was comfortably perched against the wall next to the cardboard box and nodding off. He wanted to watch over everyone and that was the best spot for it. Plus he could keep his hand in the box so the puppy didn't feel lonely. Gabriel was very comfortable against Stiles so he didn't stir for a long time.
