AU: Scott/ Stiles/ Gabriel
No one knows why half the things in Beacon Hills happen. It's not exactly something they like to put on tour guides advertising the place.
Scott had gone to work right after his class, which left Stiles to drive home on his own. He would've been able to leave sooner but he'd gotten detention. This one had been totally Scott's fault and he'd apologized at lunch, but he hadn't been able to get Stiles out of it. So when Stiles left the school building there wasn't too many around. Just as he was reaching the parking lot, a bright white flash blinded him for a moment. There was a thud and a groan of pain and then everything went right back to normal. Except now there was a blonde kid laying on the ground not ten yards from him. He was still and unconscious, but there was something remarkably familiar about his face. He wore a coat and scarf, even though it was May and he had he didn't have anything with him besides that.

Scott just stuck his tongue out at Stiles teasingly. He could enjoy a few immature moments with his buddy. Once they were done talking to Deaton, he'd talk to the nurse about when Stiles could have more pain meds.
"They?" Scott asked with a confused frown. "Did.. more show up?" Oh my god! Nooo! More kids??
no subject
"No," Deaton tells them. "We had a runt at the clinic that Gabriel has become attached to. I brought them both home with me."
no subject
Scott laughed. "Oh my god.. this kid really is just like me." His mom had never given in to his plea for a dog growing up but he sure wanted one. She had to keep him out of all the pet stores and petting zoos or he'd want to take all of them home. Up until he became a wolf he'd always had some kind of pet in a jar. Usually something that didn't cost anything like a snail or bug or frog. He tried fish once, but he managed to kill those somehow. It was probably the constant feeding them that did it, but that was the only time they were very active! So of course eight year old him had kept doing it to excess.
He looked at Stiles, finding this both bizarre but amusing. Who would've thought? They had a kid that didn't look anything like Scott, but acted just like him. "I think Stiles might be stuck here for a while. Are you really okay watching him?"
no subject
Stiles gives a slight sigh," They're doing good though, right? He's doing good."
"They're both doing just fine." Deaton assures him.
no subject
"About what?" Scott asked. He didn't have a problem talking to John and his mom, he was just curious as to why they needed to. He had a habit of trying not to include them when it wasn't necessary.
Stiles' question had him giving his best friend a gentle smile. He hadn't realized Stiles was worried about that too.
"Thanks for doing this," Scott said, to Deaton. He really appreciated it.
no subject
Stiles smiles a little," ... Maybe once everything is said and done, when I can get out of here we'll come see him."
no subject
It was so dumb, but Scott found the strangest spike of jealousy at hearing Gabriel wanted to be with Stiles and not him. No, that had not been what Deaton said but that was what he heard. Logically, he understood. He would much rather be with his mom than his dad even before they'd separated. But his dad was an asshole, so there was that. His jealousy evaporated as soon as he saw Stiles' smile. Yep, this was Scott's kid. He was a big freakin' mama's boy.
"He can't stay in this time forever either, right?" Scott pointed out. "That's the goal?" Just in case he missed something.
no subject
"I'm still trying to find a way home for him. However, it might take a while before that happens," Deaton tells them.
no subject
"Okay," Scott answered. He looked to Stiles to see if there was anything else he wanted to add. When he didn't get anything more, he said, "We'll call again later to check in. Call my phone if you need us. We're not sure where Stiles' phone is."
When he hangs up, he looked at Stiles. "It's okay that none of this makes sense, right?"

Stiles had a point there. A whole ton of this doesn't make any sense and that was before some kid from the future showed up. He threw their garbage away and found another blanket for Stiles. He gently added it to the bed for him.
"Yeah.. especially that part about us being together." Crap! Scott had not meant for that to be a spoken thought. He'd thought it but that hadn't been meant for Stiles to hear. "A- and.. you know.. all of it."
no subject
"...Is that something that you'd even want?"
no subject
Deer in headlights. That was Scott's expression to a 't'. He didn't know how to breathe or react to what he'd mistakenly done and then to Stiles' question. He was terribly flustered and didn't know how to answer that. As the seconds ticked, he knew his silence was already telling Stiles something- what, he wasn't sure.
"I.. uh...." Scott began, scrambling for a way to back out of this. "I don't know. Do you?"

Scott could clearly see Stiles was frustrated, but he didn't understand which why he was wanting him to go with this. Was that a 'if you've waited this long' a bad thing because Stiles wanted it too or because Stiles thought it was insane given how long they'd been friends? Or was that the same thing? Just why exactly he was getting the bat?
He stared at Stiles trying desperately to figure out what that statement meant. "Was that a yes or a no?" Because seriously Stiles, he did not know!

It was almost like a cartoon the way Scott's face was the perfect picture of confusion and then the light bulb over his head clicked on and he was now the perfect picture of shocked.
The shock melted away relatively quickly and he crossed the short distance to Stiles' bed. He didn't ask another question, but leaned in and kissed his best friend's lips firmly.

Melissa heads into the room to check on Stiles and stops short," I thought I said that he needed his rest." She really should just turn and go but she couldn't. After all, she had to attend to Stiles.
no subject
Scott nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard Melissa. Since becoming a wolf people didn't just sneak up on him anymore. However, he'd been so hyper focused on Stiles, he hadn't even noticed she was there. They were lucky he hadn't just pissed himself.
And then it dawns on him that his mother had just walked in on that and omg..
Just..
"How long have you been standing there?" Because seriously, he had no idea.
no subject
"Long enough," Melissa tells him. "I need to check on Stiles. Why don't you grab your things and start home, Scott. It's getting late and you've got school tomorrow."
no subject
"Aw, but mom! I can't just leave him here," Scott complained. He really, really didn't want to leave. Especially after whatever the hell that was that she'd just walked in on. Didn't they have to talk about that or.. something? (Kiss more).
no subject
"It's okay, Scotty," Stiles says with a smile. More than okay really. "No lacrosse tomorrow so you'll be able to get here quicker."
no subject
Scott tries to protest, but he was just no match for the mom authority. So with a disappointed huff, he gave Stiles a weak smile. "Okay. Call.. oh crap. You don't have your phone. Do you want to keep mine?" He fished it out of his pocket again.

Scott was satisfied once Stiles had his phone to play with and then left. It was hard being away from him and he didn't sleep much that night. He hoped Stiles wasn't having the same problem.
Gabe slept peacefully until Peanut woke up the next morning needing to go pee. He hopped out of the bassinet and then changed back to a human. He put on his underwear so he could take the puppy out. It occurred to him as he crept through the house, that he wasn't home. This wasn't Laura's puppy and he wasn't in his right time. Standing in the backyard in only his underwear, Gabe thought about this, waiting for Peanut to do his business.
