No one knows why half the things in Beacon Hills happen. It's not exactly something they like to put on tour guides advertising the place.

Scott had gone to work right after his class, which left Stiles to drive home on his own. He would've been able to leave sooner but he'd gotten detention. This one had been totally Scott's fault and he'd apologized at lunch, but he hadn't been able to get Stiles out of it. So when Stiles left the school building there wasn't too many around. Just as he was reaching the parking lot, a bright white flash blinded him for a moment. There was a thud and a groan of pain and then everything went right back to normal. Except now there was a blonde kid laying on the ground not ten yards from him. He was still and unconscious, but there was something remarkably familiar about his face. He wore a coat and scarf, even though it was May and he had he didn't have anything with him besides that.

When they do get back to his place he gets Gabriel set up in his bed. Though he lets the little guy know that because of the pup being a runt, he can't quite stay in the bed. So he sets up a bassinet for beside the bed, something he did with the Hale children when he was with Talia, and places the pup inside with a little blanket covering its tiny body. Once he's sure both are asleep, he heads down to do a little research.

He shakes his head and moves to sit up," How is it okay? All of that really happened, Scotty."

Scott sighed. Stiles' rest clearly hadn't put him in a better mood. "How about 'hey don't panic, no one is about to kill you'?" That's what he'd meant feeling Stiles jerk like that. But hey, if he wanted to look on the negative side, they could do that too. Whatever.

Stiles was half tempted to just have Scott leave the room. Though he wouldn't do that because he needed his best friend there. However, telling him not to panic was really counter productive because he's going to panic. He bites his bottom lip and gives a slight nod," Yeah, okay." It didn't stop his mind from reeling though. Hadn't Melissa also told Scott not to let Stiles pull anything? Sitting up is bound to do that.

Scott hadn't thought Stiles sitting up would hurt him. If he did, he wouldn't have been as neutral about it. However he thought his bad attitude was making things a lot worse than his body was. But that wasn't something he was going to say out loud.

"He's safe with Deaton right now," he told Stiles, hoping that would relieve some of the stress. Whatever they were dealing with wouldn't have to be increased by worries about their future son being okay. "I was going to call him when you woke up if you wanted to listen in?"

Thinking about a kid that was meant to be theirs being with Deaton didn't really set things at ease. Gabe should've been with Melissa or with John but the more he thought about it, the stupider the idea became. After all, both of them were working. So, of course, the next logical choice would've been Deaton.

He closes his eyes and tries to quell the panic before laying his head on Scott's chest. Stiles couldn't sit up like that for long though because it really was playing hell on his body," Yeah, okay, I'd like that."

Scott gave him a soft smile. "You'l be happy to know mom made me promise to stop healing you," he teased lightly. Stiles hated it when he healed him, so he thought this might amuse him a little. "I know you're upset. Just remember I'm here to help, okay?" Without really thinking about it, he kissed the top of Stiles' head. He put his arm around him again so he was supported well. "Are you hungry?"

"Good," he murmurs cracking a slight smile. After all, Scott had a bad habit of taking too much. He didn't want his best friend to lose his wolf status or anything like that. The kiss to the top of his head throws him off a bit," Starving, actually." After all, he'd normally go home after school, munch on a snack and do his homework.

"Yeah? Okay, cool. What do you want? I can go check out the cafeteria," Scott offered. Food was good. He could do food. He might not always know the right thing to say to Stiles' panic attacks, but he could always figure out what to feed him when he got the munchies. It would mean Scott slipping off the bed for a while, but that would be okay, he figured. It would give Stiles a chance to use a bedpan if he needed it.

"I don't know what they have at the moment," Stiles says softly, continuing to lean on Scott. "You know what I like though, so you pick." Though something does occur to him after a moment," What time is it?"

Scott looked around before spotting a clock. "It's nine, why?" A lot had happened today. He wondered what Stiles was worried about now. He'd try to help him relax about whatever it was. Gently, he started scooting out from under him. His mind was already shifting to food.

At some point during the night, the puppy started whimpering finding himself alone. Gabriel woke up at the sound and wiggled out of his clothes. Shifting into a small white wolf, he crawled into the bassinet and snuggled up. And yes, his siblings had been right. His little patch of gray was cute.

"Curious," he mutters softly. After all, it had been pretty much after school when he'd ended up in the hospital. So he wasn't sure what time it was but that... yeah, it explained why he was so damn hungry.

When Deaton does go to check on them he can't help but smile slightly. Especially considering the last time he saw a view like this. So he merely takes another blanket and places it over the pup and the cub within.

Once he was out of the bed, Scott stopped and looked back at Stiles. He leaned over and gently brushed his fingers through his friend's hair. "I'll be right back, okay?" He said, hoping to come off reassuring. He pulled out his phone and handed it to Stiles. "I don't know where your phone is so here's mine if you want it." It would let Stiles have something to play with or text people on or.. whatever.

"It was probably in my backpack which was in the jeep," Stiles tells him with a small smile. Or it might be out on the road near where he crashed. There was really no telling where that damn phone was at. He leans into the fingers through his hair before taking Scott's phone before pulling a game up on the phone. Might as well play a bit before his best friend came back with food.

"Right," he said. "I can go look for it later." He smiled at Stiles getting a game and then went downstairs. Not that either of them knew it but John had Stiles' stuff by now and the shop had the jeep. For once Roscoe was getting repaired properly instead of duct tape.

Scott was gone for about twenty minutes. He bought several options for Stiles since he went overboard taking care of people sometimes. There was chicken noodle soup, a turkey sandwich, some french fries, a blue icee, and a bowl of meatballs in marinara sauce. As he came back, he labeled it all out for Stiles offering whatever he wanted.

To be honest, Stiles wasn't really all that worried about his stuff. He's relaxing, or trying to, and playing the game. So when Scott comes back twenty minutes later he can't help but chuckle. After all, those were really good options for hospital food.

"You did get something for yourself too, right?" He asks picking out the fries and turkey sandwich.

"I just figured I'd eat whatever you didn't want," Scott admitted. He'd picked everything that looked good to him so he didn't really care. If they needed more, he'd just go back and get more. "What were you playing?" He asked, parking his butt on a chair next to the bed. He started in on the meatballs.

"Snakes." Stiles tells him with a chuckle. "I almost got it big enough that it went all the way around the screen but ended up eating my tail in the process." He exits out of the game and sets Scott's phone on the table, picking up the turkey sandwich and biting into it. "Hospital food should never be this good."

"I always make the wrong turn on that game," Scott grumbled. As he chewed, he nodded. "It was Rita down there today. She's the best one." The only reason Rita was 'the best one' was because she gave Scott extra. She just loved his dimpled smile and thought his mother was a sweetheart.

"You want me to call now? Or should we wait for morning?"

"You got the joys of knowing them by name," he says taking another bite of his sandwich. "Mom's got a lot of people around here who love you." He can't stop the slight wince when he moves to sit up better. After all, can't really eat laying down.

"Do you think Deaton would mind us calling this late?"

Scott grinned. Yes, yes he did. He counted himself quite fortunate for having these hospital connections of his. It wasn't a huge network but it got him two extra meatballs, so it was awesome in his book. He frowned seeing Stiles wince. However, he didn't offer anything. He knew better.

"No, I don't think he'd mind." At least Deaton wouldn't tell them that. He took the phone now that Stiles was eating and dialed- putting it on speaker.

"You know... remind me not to do that again," he mutters once he manages to sit up better despite the shooting pain. "I just realized that I'm stuck here for a while." Once Scott dials the number, he goes quiet.

"Hello boys," Deaton says since he knows that Scott is still with Stiles. "What can I do for you?"

Scott gave him a grin. "Don't crash into a tree again," he said all smart alexy. "We should find a way to get you to move without straining yourself," he added. So one super unhelpful statement mixed with stating the obvious- good work Scott.

"Hey Deaton. We just wanted to check in on things. Everything okay?"

"Smart ass," he mutters. As for that statement he can't help but roll his eyes slightly. "Dope me up on morphine." Except where he wouldn't want that because his body might not take to it.

Deaton smiles listening to the boys," Everything's fine. They're both asleep."

Scott just stuck his tongue out at Stiles teasingly. He could enjoy a few immature moments with his buddy. Once they were done talking to Deaton, he'd talk to the nurse about when Stiles could have more pain meds.

"They?" Scott asked with a confused frown. "Did.. more show up?" Oh my god! Nooo! More kids??

Stiles nearly chokes on his sandwich at the mention of both but somehow manages not to. His best friend got the question he had on his mind before he could get to it.

"No," Deaton tells them. "We had a runt at the clinic that Gabriel has become attached to. I brought them both home with me."
