It made him feel more secure when Mamaw didn't react to him like she didn't know who he was or what he was talking about. His cheeks flush and he looked down guiltily. It hadn't been on purpose, but he knew the crash had been his fault.

"I didn't mean to.." He began, feeling horrible for what had happened. "I just asked Mommy why he didn't smell like a wolf." How was he supposed to know that was a shocking question? His mom was a wolf. "He doesn't look right either."

She's still overly confused and hopes like hell that Shelly managed to stop John before he lost it. Hoped that the other had been taken to his son immediately. For now, however, she's just listening to the young boy talk.

"Hey, no blaming yourself," she tells him softly. "Can you tell me what happened before you found mommy like this?" It was weird to call Stiles that but she needed the information so she could tell her son later.

"I was outside school waiting for him to pick me up and then I found myself in front of the high school somehow. I woke up and saw Mommy, but he didn't know who I was. I don't know what happening. Where's Dad?" Or Derek or Isaac or hell, he'd even take Chris!

John came rushing in and fortunately was caught by Shelly. Everyone knew the sheriff around here so it wasn't hard to spot him. A couple other nurses had been taking care of Stiles, cleaning his wounds and talking to him. They were mostly just trying to make sure he hadn't hit his head too hard.

"Hey," John said, coming up to his son. "Stiles?" He wasn't sure yet if Stiles was with it or not.

Shelly popped her head in with Melissa. "The sheriff is here and with Stiles. Do you need anything?"

"I'm sure that he's fine," Melissa tells him with a bit of a smile. "Probably at work." After all, she's not sure who in the world Gabe's dad is but the kid's dad is more than likely at work. When Shelly does pop her head in, she shakes hers," No, I've got this, Shelly. Just make sure that Stiles is alright and doesn't need anything."

Stiles looks up at him still pretty out of it," Dad?" Wait, why was he there? Oh, right, he'd crashed the jeep.

"Can we call him? He's with Grandpa Deaton," Gabe asked, feeling hopeful that maybe his dad would know him. He felt more confident now that Mamaw knew who he was. "Is Mommy going to be okay?"

"Hey pal," John said, pulling up a stool. "You got to quit getting hurt like this. My heart can't take it." It was meant as a joke, but it probably went over poorly. "What happened?"

"He's working right now," Melissa tells him. "So we'll call him later, okay? As for Stiles, he's going to be fine. Might have a few bumps and bruises but he'll be fine."

"Don't say that dad," he says with a deep frown. "I don't... There was a kid with me. And he's, I don't know... He kept calling me mom. And asked why I didn't smell like a wolf."

"I don't think he wants to see me again," Gabe said, deflating emotionally. He wondered if one of the favorites like Myles or Caleb or even Dia had shown up if Stiles would've liked them better. He was the weirdo and smallest runt in the bunch. It wasn't too shocking that Stiles hadn't been too impressed with him. He doesn't even realize he's doing it, but the faintest whimper came from the back of his throat. He had his kicked puppy look again and just.. he was feeling really lost.

John patted Stiles' arm- a spot that didn't look injured. However, he frowned at the news. "A kid calling you mom? Did he get a good look at you?"

There were a lot of things you could tease Stiles about but being feminine wasn't one of them. There wasn't any obvious way someone could mistake him for a girl, so clearly it was the kid being hopped up on something. "Where'd you find him?"

"Hey, don't ever think like that," she tells him. She may not know him but she's seen that kicked puppy look before. A look that she's definitely seen on her own son. Something she doesn't want to look too much into. "I'm sure that's not the case."

"He got a good look at me," he says with a shake of his head which was a bad idea. Especially when his head hurt from the crash. "He was unconscious in the school parking lot. Dad, he... vaguely looks like mom." What little he remembered about her.

His eyes slowly rose again to her face. He wasn't sure he believed her, but you don't argue with Mamaw. He wanted a hug but didn't know how to ask for one. So instead, he just chewed on his bottom lip, trying to think of something else to say. He was at a loss.

John's frown deepened. "Did you ask him what his name was?" He asked. There had to be something going on here that would explain some of his better. Not that John understood any of this supernatural stuff. "What do you want to do? We can see he gets some help.." As in, assuming the kid has gone crazy somehow. Stiles needed only one guess where that would lead the poor kid.

Melissa reaches down and cards fingers through Gabriel's hair. Maybe it was a natural mother thing and she didn't know who the kid's mom was or where the mother was for that matter. Even though there were talks of grandpa Deaton and she's sure somewhere in there, her son.

"I didn't ask him his name, dad," he says with a bit of a frown. Hell, he hadn't really thought to ask a kid calling him 'mom' what his name was. Why in the hell would he? He'd just wanted to get the kid to the hospital so his best friend's mom could take a look at him. Make sure the kid was okay. "We're not sending him to Eichen, dad. Get that thought out of your head. I'll eventually get to the bottom of it." Assuming the dang doctors let him go at some point.

Gabe relaxed, feeling her fingers in his hair. It was soothing and familiar. Mamaw had always done that and so had both Stiles and Scott. He slowly closed his eyes. The events had all happened so fast and it had taken a lot out of him. He was young and finally not so afraid. So, it didn't take long before she had him resting peacefully.

John sighed. "It might not be our decision. We don't know who this kid is," he reasoned. However, he wasn't going to say that's for sure where he was going either. "You should rest up. I'm going to go deal with your car, okay?"

And contact Scott.

Melissa watches Gabe for a moment and makes sure that none of the other nurses bother the kid. After all, he was responding better to her than anyone else it seemed for some reason. So when she leaves she sees John," How's Stiles?"

"Okay, dad," Stiles murmurs softly. "Don't stay gone too long," he tells him before closing his eyes. The pain coursing through him getting the better of him.

John sighed as he stepped out to join Melissa. "I don't know. He was acting like he was coherent enough, but what's this stuff about some kid calling him mom?" That was just too weird for words. "And do you think Stiles can get some more pain medicine? He looked like he was hurting."

It's an hour later when Scott tries calling Stiles.

"He's a cute kid, John," she tells him simply. "He actually looks a lot like Claudia with the blonde hair and blue eyes," she says softly, watching John for a moment. "Yeah, I'll make sure that he gets something for the pain. Is he sleeping right now?"

The phone startles the shit out of Stiles because what the hell. "Hello?" His voice is a bit raw and he groans because he still hurts slightly.

"That's what Stiles said too," John said, unsure if he really wanted to see someone who looked like his late wife. He needed to though. "Which room is he in?" He asked. He wouldn't disturb the boy, just look in on him.

"Stiles? What's going on?" Scott asked. He was a lot more concerned hearing Stiles' voice. He knew his friend needed some time going from sleep to really awake, but his text had worried him too.

Melissa doesn't say anything at first. She just leads John to the room and opens the door slightly, so he could see the young boy that was laying there asleep.

"Scotty," he murmurs softly. "Oh god... Can you get out of work and come to the hospital?"

"The hospital?" Scott asked shocked. "I'll be there in ten minutes." He knew Deaton wouldn't make him stay if Stiles was in the hospital. Now he was kicking himself for not answering the tag as soon as he got it. His hands had been covered in filth and then he'd forgotten for a while.

John stared. The boy laying there wasn't just kind of like his late wife. He was strikingly similar. There was enough of Stiles in his face too that almost made his knees weak. There were other familiar traits, but he couldn't place them immediately. Closing the door again, he looked at Melissa. "Stiles said he found the boy just laying unconscious in the parking lot at the school. There was something about... " he glanced around the hall making sure he could say it without causing trouble. "Something about Stiles not smelling like a wolf."

"Yeah, I kind of crashed the jeep," he mutters. "So you being here would be good. I'll explain everything after you get here." Or at least attempt to explain everything to his best friend.

"Some of the boy's mannerisms remind me of Scott," she tells John once they're out of the room and the door is shut. "He calls Deaton grandpa and wanted me to call his dad. The only other one at the clinic was Scott, John."

"Okay," Scott said. He dashed off, giving Deaton only a brief explanation. The druid was pretty used to emergencies popping up with the young alpha anyway. It took him less than ten minutes to get across town. It wasn't the smartest way to drive, but he was a bit freaked.

John looked at her confused and then through the window in the door at the kid again. Scott. That was who the other features had reminded him of. "How would that even happen? Stiles isn't a girl and those two aren't romantically together."

Stiles had gotten off the phone with Scott and closed his eyes, intending to rest a bit more. After all, his body needed it and he wasn't even sure if his best friend would be allowed in to see him to begin with. He probably had to talk to some doctor or mom. One of the two. He's not really paying much attention to it.

"I honestly don't know," she says looking through the window then back at the sheriff. "But this is Beacon Hills." Then she gives John a bit of a smirk," Maybe the boys perfected time travel." Though that was really a tease, nothing more.

John sighed. It was Beacon Hills, there was no denying that. "We should call Scott. Maybe even Deaton since the boy knows him somehow." He shook his head. If anyone could discover time travel, it would be these crazy kids. They were geniuses and all had a few screws loose. "I'll do that," he volunteered for his own suggestion.

Just as he started dialing, Scott came rushing through the door.

"I'll see if I can..." Or at least she was going to tell John that she'd try to get a hold of Deaton. Unfortunately, that's when her son came rushing through the hospital doors. Moving away from the sheriff, she moves over to Scott," Before you go off rushing anywhere, try to calm down." After all, she didn't need the hospital thinking that her son had lost his damn mind.

Scott's mouth was open to ask her where Stiles was, but she beat him to it. He huffed at that and then worked to calm himself down. "Okay, I'm calm," he said moments after. "Where is he? Is he alright?" He already knew there was more to the story than simply Stiles hitting a tree. There always was more than that.

John dialed Deaton and paced, moving further from other people so they could talk without being overheard easily.

Gabriel relaxed a little more in his sleep. He smelled Dad and Papaw, so he felt more safe. It was all sub-conscious, but Gabe was strongly in touch with his instincts like most of the wolf kids.

"Calm down a bit more," she tells her son, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and leading him towards Stiles' room. "He's going to be okay, he's resting right now. But he'll be fine. Why don't you go on in. He'll be happy to see you."

"Beacon Hills Animal Clinic," Deaton answers almost immediately after cleaning up. He figures it's probably someone calling about their pet or Scott. He doesn't expect anyone else on the other end.

Scott scowled, but kept working on calming down. The information that Stiles was alright helped a great deal. "Thanks Mom," he said and went on into the room. He frowned seeing Stiles banged up. "Hey.. are you hurting?"

"Yeah, hi Deaton. It's John Stilinski," the sheriff began. "We have another strange situation down here at the hospital. There's a boy who had been in the car with Stiles when he wreaked. He looks just like Stiles and Scott and Claudia. He's claiming Stiles is his mother."
