AU: Scott/ Stiles/ Gabriel

No one knows why half the things in Beacon Hills happen. It's not exactly something they like to put on tour guides advertising the place.
Scott had gone to work right after his class, which left Stiles to drive home on his own. He would've been able to leave sooner but he'd gotten detention. This one had been totally Scott's fault and he'd apologized at lunch, but he hadn't been able to get Stiles out of it. So when Stiles left the school building there wasn't too many around. Just as he was reaching the parking lot, a bright white flash blinded him for a moment. There was a thud and a groan of pain and then everything went right back to normal. Except now there was a blonde kid laying on the ground not ten yards from him. He was still and unconscious, but there was something remarkably familiar about his face. He wore a coat and scarf, even though it was May and he had he didn't have anything with him besides that.

Date: 2016-01-26 12:55 am (UTC)Gabe nodded, but still looked a little sad. "They don't like me do they?" He hugged the dog, feeling just as outcast as the puppy was. Runts of the world unite! Or at least runs of this particular animal clinic.
~~~
Scott sighed. "Okay," he agreed. He hadn't meant to come off as micromanaging. He was just protective, but his mom knew that. They were all protective of each other's well being. That's what family did.
"Can you believe I have a kid?" Any kid ever. The idea was just so bizarre to him. Sure, at some point or another he figured he'd have kids or a kid or maybe not. He didn't know.
"I'm sure that you and Stiles are wonderful parents, Scott," she says with a bit of a smile. "I'm sure that you both in whatever time they're from have made us very proud."
Date: 2016-01-26 01:31 am (UTC)Gabe tried to find some comfort in that reassurance but it was hard. He just wasn't convinced Stiles was all that pleased to learn of his awkward little runt. But he knew Deaton was looking out for him and that did make him feel better. Would it be so bad to live with grandpa for awhile?
"Are you going to find out if Mommy's okay?"
~~
Scott shook his head. It was so hard to even believe it. That's about when he realized Deaton had never come back from getting food.
"Did Deaton talk to you?"
"Deaton took Gabriel with him to the clinic," Melissa tells him. "That way it gave you boys time to process things. I'm sure we'll be hearing from him again."
Date: 2016-01-26 02:59 pm (UTC)Gabriel gave Deaton a little smile, trusting him completely. It would've disturbed Scott to see such trust from a kid he didn't know, but given Gabriel's background he had all the right reasons to be trusting of Deaton. He was grandpa and had always treated the family well. As far as he knew, they were related regardless of technicalities. So instead of asking any more questions, he just let Deaton do what he wanted to kept playing with the puppy until Peanut looked ready for a nap. In truth, Gabe started looking like he could use one too. Even if he had healed, he had been in an accident today along with randomly time traveling.
~~~
"Oh okay," Scott said, sighing with relief. It made him frown to hear himself. Why was he feeling protective of someone he barely knew? This whole situation was very strange. As far as he was concerned, Deaton could take care of the boy until they were ready for Stiles to come home. Then it would be up to discussion on where the boy went from there if back to his own time wasn't an option yet. Scott didn't know it, but Gabe was hoping Stiles would want him. Even if it was illogical, the boy wanted his mommy.

"You get some rest too," Melissa tells him, making sure that Stiles got some medicine and running fingers through her son's hair. "And make sure he doesn't pull anything with all of his anxiety and moving around."

Date: 2016-01-26 05:20 pm (UTC)"Okay, Grandpa," Gabriel answered, covering a yawn. He got up and picked up his new puppy (it was his dammit). They were ready to go whenever Deaton was. "Do we need to take a bottle with us?" He asked, concerned for his new best friend.
~~~
"I will," he promised. He wouldn't let Stiles hurt himself even if he was ridiculously stubborn. Watching his mom leave, he put his arm around Stiles gently. It wasn't easy avoiding his injuries but he at least tried. While his mom was gone he took just a little bit more of the pain before deciding to try and honor his promise.
It's probably a good almost half hour before Stiles jolts awake, almost almost forgetting where he was. Or that his best friend was in the hospital bed with him. Right... so it was real. The kid in the school parking lot, the wreck... everything.
Date: 2016-01-26 05:55 pm (UTC)On the ride to Deaton's house, Gabe nodded off with the puppy in his lap. When they got there, he woke up enough to trudge into the house and be guided to whatever surface Deaton wanted him to sack out on. Even with the risk of there being a puppy accident, Gabe just curled up with him. Part of him wanted to become a wolf and sleep that way but he resisted. It would require too much energy anyway.
~~
Scott was woken up by Stiles' sudden movement. He hadn't even realized he'd even fallen asleep. "It's okay," he mumbled, waking up. "I got you."
He shakes his head and moves to sit up," How is it okay? All of that really happened, Scotty."
Date: 2016-01-26 06:31 pm (UTC)Scott sighed. Stiles' rest clearly hadn't put him in a better mood. "How about 'hey don't panic, no one is about to kill you'?" That's what he'd meant feeling Stiles jerk like that. But hey, if he wanted to look on the negative side, they could do that too. Whatever.
Date: 2016-01-26 06:46 pm (UTC)Scott hadn't thought Stiles sitting up would hurt him. If he did, he wouldn't have been as neutral about it. However he thought his bad attitude was making things a lot worse than his body was. But that wasn't something he was going to say out loud.
"He's safe with Deaton right now," he told Stiles, hoping that would relieve some of the stress. Whatever they were dealing with wouldn't have to be increased by worries about their future son being okay. "I was going to call him when you woke up if you wanted to listen in?"
no subject
Date: 2016-01-26 07:09 pm (UTC)He closes his eyes and tries to quell the panic before laying his head on Scott's chest. Stiles couldn't sit up like that for long though because it really was playing hell on his body," Yeah, okay, I'd like that."
no subject
Date: 2016-01-26 07:26 pm (UTC)Scott gave him a soft smile. "You'l be happy to know mom made me promise to stop healing you," he teased lightly. Stiles hated it when he healed him, so he thought this might amuse him a little. "I know you're upset. Just remember I'm here to help, okay?" Without really thinking about it, he kissed the top of Stiles' head. He put his arm around him again so he was supported well. "Are you hungry?"
Date: 2016-01-26 07:56 pm (UTC)"Yeah? Okay, cool. What do you want? I can go check out the cafeteria," Scott offered. Food was good. He could do food. He might not always know the right thing to say to Stiles' panic attacks, but he could always figure out what to feed him when he got the munchies. It would mean Scott slipping off the bed for a while, but that would be okay, he figured. It would give Stiles a chance to use a bedpan if he needed it.
Date: 2016-01-26 08:17 pm (UTC)Scott looked around before spotting a clock. "It's nine, why?" A lot had happened today. He wondered what Stiles was worried about now. He'd try to help him relax about whatever it was. Gently, he started scooting out from under him. His mind was already shifting to food.
~~
At some point during the night, the puppy started whimpering finding himself alone. Gabriel woke up at the sound and wiggled out of his clothes. Shifting into a small white wolf, he crawled into the bassinet and snuggled up. And yes, his siblings had been right. His little patch of gray was cute.
When Deaton does go to check on them he can't help but smile slightly. Especially considering the last time he saw a view like this. So he merely takes another blanket and places it over the pup and the cub within.
Date: 2016-01-26 09:07 pm (UTC)Once he was out of the bed, Scott stopped and looked back at Stiles. He leaned over and gently brushed his fingers through his friend's hair. "I'll be right back, okay?" He said, hoping to come off reassuring. He pulled out his phone and handed it to Stiles. "I don't know where your phone is so here's mine if you want it." It would let Stiles have something to play with or text people on or.. whatever.
Date: 2016-01-26 09:43 pm (UTC)"Right," he said. "I can go look for it later." He smiled at Stiles getting a game and then went downstairs. Not that either of them knew it but John had Stiles' stuff by now and the shop had the jeep. For once Roscoe was getting repaired properly instead of duct tape.
Scott was gone for about twenty minutes. He bought several options for Stiles since he went overboard taking care of people sometimes. There was chicken noodle soup, a turkey sandwich, some french fries, a blue icee, and a bowl of meatballs in marinara sauce. As he came back, he labeled it all out for Stiles offering whatever he wanted.
Date: 2016-01-26 09:59 pm (UTC)"You did get something for yourself too, right?" He asks picking out the fries and turkey sandwich.
Date: 2016-01-26 10:07 pm (UTC)"I just figured I'd eat whatever you didn't want," Scott admitted. He'd picked everything that looked good to him so he didn't really care. If they needed more, he'd just go back and get more. "What were you playing?" He asked, parking his butt on a chair next to the bed. He started in on the meatballs.
